Managing Editor: Ryan Murphy (DMSB, MSA 2016)

HUB Members and Contributors,

My name is Ryan Murphy and I was part of the first group of students to experiment and explore with Bibitor, LLC, the HUB’s first open educational dataset. My classmates and I were thrown this enormous dataset and given a simple instruction, audit the company.

It was one of the most challenging assignments I ever received and it was the most rewarding. I learned the true power and possibilities of utilizing big data. After the course, I volunteered to work with the co-founders, creating additional exercises, datasets, and supporting materials. I am the co-author for 9 publications found on the HUB.

This summer, I discussed with the co-founders where the critical needs exist within the organization. The biggest need is soliciting additional exercises and materials for publication on the HUB and creating an editorial review process for faculty submitting to the HUB. Through this process, we will ensure that the materials released on the HUB will be the most beneficial to the users.

As the Managing Editor, I plan to build a team of associate editors and reviewers that will examine all submitted materials. While the majority of the material currently available on the HUB was developed internally with the co-founders, we are keen to receive outside submissions from our users and continue to grow the materials available on the HUB. If interested in becoming a member of the editorial team, please direct inquiries to me.

I want to welcome you to the HUB, as we prepare students for the future, millions of records at a time!
